Motor Vehicle Accident Damage Assessment Report ~

Q.   Who would use this type of Report?
A.   Insurance Companies, Solicitors, Accident Management Companies, Fleet Operators, and the General Public in some situations

Q.   What information would the report contain?
A.   A comprehensive list of all repair work which would be required to reinstate the vehicle to its pre-accident condition, including new parts, parts requiring general and specialist repair. The cost of labour, new parts, paint and materials and specialist repairs. A summary of savings made from the repairing garage's original repair estimate. General information regarding the pre-accident condition of the vehicle and whether any contributions from the insured would be justified. The pre-accident market value of the vehicle and where applicable the salvage or scrap value if the vehicle was found to be uneconomical to repair.

Q.   What would happen if the vehicle was found to be repairable ?
A.   Providing that we were so instructed we would authorise the repair to proceed by contacting the repairer and informing them of any excess and also of the VAT status of the insured and also of any contributions that we feel the insured should bear.

Q.   What would happen if the vehicle was considered to be uneconomical to repair ?
A.   We would provide within the body of the report our own assessment as to the value of the vehicle in its damaged state (scrap or salvage value). We would also categorise the remains in line with the requirements of M.I.A.F.T.R. (Motor Insurance Anti Fraud and Theft Register). We would also include in the report notification as to whether there were any outstanding vehicle recovery charges or storage charges accruing. Subject to the insured accepting an offer from the insurers, we would then dispose of the salvage to the highest tender from recognised salvage buyers.

Q.   How long would it take to have the vehicle inspected ?
A.   We can usually carry out this type of inspection within 24 hours and send off the report from the place of examination.

Q.   How much does this type of report cost ?
A.   Please contact Mark Willis directly on: 0151 426 6113 for further details.
